New Zealand rider Mark Todd wins Subaru Houghton International 3DE on Walk the Line (Kinnordy Gernot), May 2009

New Zealand rider Mark Todd, one of Eventings sporting greats, proved a popular winner yesterday (Sunday, May 24) of the CCI** at this year's Subaru Houghton International...

Mark Todd fought a close battle with British rider Chris King and 2007 Houghton victor, William Fox-Pitt, riding Bruno Goyens de Heusch's Walk the Line (ridden by Fox-Pitt up to 2008)...

Having ridden Walk the Line (Kinnordy Gernot) on only four competetive occasions previous to Houghton, Mark admitted he didn't have much feeling for the horse. "He is an exciting horse but has a huge long stride and found the twists and turns of Alec Lochore's cross country course quite a test. I couldn't be more pleased with him as he's answered all the questions asked this weekend..."(British Eventing, News & Press releases)

"I was impressed with how well he jumped today and he's very easy to ride", said Mark. (Horse & Hound)
