Past Stallions

GRAF LANDAU (IMP)

HANOVERIAN STALLION by Genever/Wendekreis 1984, grey, 168 cm.
Licenced and performance tested .

Graf Landau’s pedigree is bursting with important sires such as Genever, Gotthard, Wendekreis, Ferdinand, Domspatz and Goetz, all of them responsible for at least one or more world champions.

Like his paternal grand sire, Gotthard, he is undeniably influenced by the stamp sire Amurath ox and is therefore getting even more impressive with maturity.

Graf Landau has produced numerous horses with big movement and great jumping ability. A number of classy dressage horses, premium broodmares and more recently several talented showjumpers and eventers - Kinnordy Goerlitz, Grand Prix showjumper, KS Genoa representig AUS at the WEG, Aachen 06 and finalist at the Olympic Games, Hong Kong 08) and Watermark Grayson, 3* eventer, proving the invaluable genes of the Gotthard line, now so much sought after in Europe.

Retired from stud duties.

WINTERKOENIG (IMP)

HANOVERIAN STALLION by Woermann/Pik Koenig 1979 Black/Brown 174 cm, licensed and performance tested.

A true ‘Chef de Rasse’ or ‘Main Sire’. Besides World Cup he is the only other licensed son of Woermann alive today. Woermann is the founder of the most popular Warmblood bloodline in the world. For almost the last two decades this sire line has dominated Hanoverian breeding and has strongly influenced Warmblood breeding all over the World. Main representatives of this lineage are: World Cup II, Warkant, Wenzel, Walt Disney, Weltmeyer, Wolkenstein II, Weyden, Wolkentanz I & II, Welt Hit I & II etc..

Winterkoenig’s genetic make up contains a very rare threefold combination of the W/F line through Woermann and his second and third sires on his dam line, Wolfsburg and Ferdinand, all leading back to Fling, one of the pillars of Hanoverian breeding. Winterkoenig’s pedigree is further strengthened by his highly rated maternal sire Pik Koenig, the sire of the very important Pik Bube.

Winterkoenig sired a number of highly rated and prominent dressage horses (eg Wiking, representing AUS at the WEG in Rome, winner on FEI level in Europe) as well as internationally successful eventers (eg Waitangi Wind under Heelan Tompkins, NZ) and a broad band of valuable broodmares.

Deceased 2006.

DAKTYLUS (IMP)

HANNOVERIAN STALLION by Diskus/Absatz, grey, 1979, 168 cm.

Daktylus was bred and raised by Holger & Melanie Schmorl. Even by today’s standards he would represent  what breeders want to achieve – a ‘typey’ and attractive horse, the result  of careful infusion of outside genes, such as the Thorougbred and Selle Francais without compromising the tradition and principles of German Warmblood breeding. With his lightness and near unlimited jumping-ability this stallion was twenty years ahead of his time.

Daktylus’ life was cut short by a mysterious illness. However, he left a legacy of successful competition horses and three licensed stallions – Destiny, Domingo (Australian winner in dressage and eventing), the Grand Prix and World Cup showjumper, Kinnordy D'Artagnan and Daley K (most successful showjumper and sire of many winning competition horses in all disciplines and valuable broodmares who have winning progeny in all disciplines.

Deceased 1993
